Helping Make the Season Bright
In addition to the services the Red Cross provides on a daily basis, volunteers, staff and community partners have been hard at work to make the season brighter for those less fortunate. Following are a few examples:
Holiday Gift Run - Emergency Services
Families that have recently experienced devastating house fires are invited to participate in our Red Cross Holiday Gift Program. Parents provide us with a wish list for their children and these gifts are delivered door to door by Santa and his Elves (Disaster Relief Volunteers, many of whom were the responders at these fires). This year, our sponsors made this one of the most spectacular Holiday Gift Runs ever!. Employees at Wilkin and Guttenplan, P.C., employees at Hase/Schannen Research Associates, employees at Purdue Pharma, and the New Jersey Physician Assistants Foundation were all incredibly generous and loaded the sleigh with toys and gifts. We’d also like to thank Rutgers Recreation, who donated toys and stuffed animals from participants in their The Big Chill 5K race held on December 10th, employees at BlackRock who helped sort and wrap gifts, and our volunteers who helped fulfill children’s wishes. All of these gifts brought smiles to many children in our community this Holiday Season. SEE More...
Wish Trees and Gifts - Home Delivered Meals Program
Our homebound and elderly clients are receiving special holiday gifts along with their meal deliveries. Gifts provided by generous donations from employees at Munich Reinsurance America Inc. and Bloomberg’s Best of Bloomberg (B.O.B,) employee volunteer program were delivered along with our meals. Clients will also enjoy the beautiful Holiday arrangements put together by the Garden Club of Princeton and employees at Novo Nordisk helped with deliveries.
