PRINCETON, NJ, January 15, 2012 – The American Red Cross is currently assisting nine people displaced by an early morning fire at their home on Home Avenue in Trenton. Two volunteer Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) members responded to the scene at approximately 1:00 a.m. to assist the family members. After meeting with the family to determine their immediate needs, six adults and three children received emergency assistance for food and clothing and temporary lodging. Referrals for long-term needs and comfort kits containing toiletries were also provided. All emergency assistance is free due to the generous contributions of the American public.
