Red Cross Launches Online Newsroom for Hurricane Gustav
Online Newsroom keeps local media up-to-date on relief activities

Princeton, NJ, September 1, 2008 – The American Red Cross has launched an online newsroom, http://hurricanegustav.wordpress.com/, to keep news media informed about current relief operations underway in communities affected by Hurricane Gustav.

Available information for editors, reporters and producers includes:

• Photos, video, and audio reports from the affected areas
• Shelter, service delivery, and bulk distribution locations
• Red Cross statistics on service delivery

The newsroom is updated daily, providing fresh information as it becomes available. Local media outlets are encouraged to use this information to keep their audiences informed about how to get help and how to give help. All information on the website is available for public use, simply credit “American Red Cross” when reprinting.
