Speakeasy With The Red Cross

The 17th Annual Red Cross Gala Speakeasy With The Red Cross
was held on Saturday, February 12, 2011
at Green Acres Country Club in Lawrenceville.
Speakeasy With The Red Cross raised $140,000
to help support Red Cross programs and services.
Guests arrived dressed in the attire of the roaring twenties and were greeted by
coat-check girls offering accessories such as beads, hats and feathered boas.
Cigarette girls roamed room to room bellowing, “cigars and cigarettes,”
as they handed out the candied kind.
And the music of Dane Anthony and Band had everyone up on the dance floor.

The guest speaker was Trevor Warner, a physical education teacher at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North. Trevor shared his inspirational story about how Red Cross training prepared him to help save the life of a student.
Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Bob Clancy Culture of Caring Award. Joan Schreyer and her late husband, William, of Princeton were the honorees. Robert Mooney, Red Cross board member and long-time family friend of the Schreyers, presented the award to Joan. Read MORE…
